Our Free Spring Open Farm Day was a huge success despite the heat. I had several people come up to me and say what a beautiful day it was and I have to admit, even though it was hot, we did have a nice breeze blowing off our Cuates Lake. We are fortunate to have a lake in our backyard. It has been know to dry up, but it's holding its own for now. Thank you to everyone who made it out. We had a lot of fun and met some wonderful people.
The vendors we had out all seemed to do fairly well, I know I did my fare share of purchasing items. Everyone loved seeing the animals and my farm helpers carried around one of our baby goats so everyone could pet him. He seemed to enjoy the attention.
We plan to have another Open Farm Day in the Fall. It will be cooler, we will have lots of baby farm animals and I believe folks will feel more like entering our various competitions. Mark your calendars now and look for it around October the 26th or 27th.
